Not too crowded: Some areas, like the computers, printers, and study rooms may be a bit busy. There is plenty of seating throughout the building.

205-410 People (40%)

Getting crowded: Popular areas like the first and fourth floors and study rooms may be a bit crowded. You may have to wait for a computer or printer. Seating should be available, but you may have to check other floors.

410-615 People (60%)

Crowded: It's busy at the library right now! Popular areas like the first and fourth floors and study rooms are most likely full. Plan to wait for computers and printers. It may be difficult to find a seat, especially in your favorite spot.

615-820 People (80%)

Very Crowded: It's very busy at the library right now! You will have to wait for computers and printers. Finding a seat is difficult.

More than 820 People (80%+)

Nearing capacity: Finding a computer or seat is difficult on all floors. You may consider visiting another time.

There are approximately 1,025 seats in the library's public areas.


The "Current Visitors" number displayed above is a real-time count of everyone in the Max Chambers Library. This number includes employees, students, UCO visitors, as well as vendors and other workers.

  • 141 faculty/staff who office in the library are included in this count.
  • After 6pm, the majority of staff have left the building and therefore the number of visitors in the building is mostly patrons.
  • Numbers around lunch time may change quickly and drastically due to the number of staff leaving for lunch and/or many students coming in for quick services in which they enter and leave within the same short time period.
