Club membership is by invitation only. The club meets on a monthly basis (excluding during the summer) to discuss subjects related to the arts. The motto of the Art Renaissance Club is “Art is neither modern, nor ancient, but perpetual.”
Scope and Content
These are the records of the Art Renaissance Club, an organization based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The records document the proceedings, activities, and history of the Art Renaissance Club. The materials include meeting minutes, materials related to the writing and publication of A Century of Art Renaissance Club (2007), photographs, financial records, meeting programs, lists of lectures presented at meetings, copies of lectures, club reports, newspaper clippings and articles, copies of the club’s constitution and bylaws, membership records, correspondence, memorabilia from special events, notes regarding the 70th anniversary of the club in 1977, information regarding artwork donated to the Oklahoma Art Center, and the club’s yearbooks from 1912-2017.
The materials were given to the UCO Archives & Special Collections in December 2017 by Suzanne Sylvester.
