This collection of short stories, poetry, and other forms is typical of Alexie in that it’s insightful, witty, and believable. So believable, in fact, that it’s sometimes difficult to know for sure whether or not you’re reading fiction. Luckily, the narrator changes from one story to the next, so you’re assured of two things: 1) remembering that it’s fiction; and 2) finding a narrator you like, even if one or two piss you off.
