A History of Britain: the Complete Collection

I hadn’t heard of Simon Schama before buying this DVD set, but I became an instant fan. This set of 5 DVDs comes with beautiful scenery, interesting reenactments, well-known art, and 15 hours of accurate history narrated by an expert. I gained a good background in British history, much of which I didn’t know before. In fact, watching these DVDs felt like the best possible combination of History Channel entertainment and a whole semester of British history lessons from the one of most interesting professors I have ever had. It made me want to learn more. If the topic interests you even a little bit, this DVD set is a good bet. ~ Jana Atkins
