Title

Shadowland

Review

The 1993 movie "Shadowlands" is an extraordinary love story based on the true life of author C. S. Lewis. Anthony Hopkins plays the part of Lewis - very British, very gentlemanly - who is just passing his time hanging out with his buds and following intellectual pursuits, until Joy Gresham (played by Debra Winger of An Officer and a Gentleman fame) a saucy divorcee from the New York Bronx enters his life, and his life is never the same.

Sometimes love hits broadside and sometimes it just creeps in. Lewis never saw it coming and when he did it was deny, deny, deny - until he realizes nothing lasts forever and he has to hold on with both hands as long as possible. Too cryptic? I just don’t want this to be a spoiler for the emotional ride of this movie. See it.
