Title

10 Questions for the Dalai Lama

Review

I make this observation about His Holiness the Dalai Lama with the utmost respect: he sounds a lot like Yoda from Star Wars. The wonderful thing is that I think that the Dalai Lama would get a chuckle out of that. He doesn't take himself seriously, but he does take his burden of leadership very seriously.

Rick Ray interviews the Dalai Lama for about 30 minutes of this 88 minute film, but it's well worth the extra footage of the countryside, the people, and the history of the Chinese occupation of Tibet.

Because of the limitations of his conversational English, I enjoyed his book The Art of Happiness more than I did his informal answers to these questions. My favorite was his answer to the question of overpopulation. In essence, he said that we should add value to the quality of life before bringing more lives into a devalued world. Well said! ~ Abbey Warner
