Education

  • 1867, c.- 1871 College training at William and Mary College, Williamsburg, Virginia
  • 1877- 1878 Studied law at the University of Virginia Ped.D Certificate, Maryland Board of Education

  • 1880 - 1895 Teacher in Maryland
  • 1895 - 1901 Transferred to the Presidency of then Territorial Normal School of Oklahoma in Edmond on June 2. Forced to resign as President of the Territorial Normal School in 1901.
  • 1895 Elected President of Oklahoma A&M College (Now Oklahoma State University), Stillwater, Oklahoma
  • 1897 Directing head in the organization of Northwest Normal School (Now Northwestern Oklahoma State University) in Alva, Oklahoma
  • 1901 - 1902 Superintendent of schools in Woodward, Oklahoma
  • 1902 - 1909 President of the Normal School at Frostburg, Maryland (Now Frostburg State University)
  • 1909 - 1911 President of Claremore Academy Preparatory School, Claremore, Oklahoma
  • 1911 - 1913 President of Southeastern State Normal School (Now Southeastern Oklahoma State University), Durant, Oklahoma
  • 1913 - 1917 Professor at Tonkawa preparatory school, Tonkawa, Oklahoma
  • 1917 Returned to then Central State Normal School in Edmond as Professor of Psychology
  • 1922 - 1925 Made President Emeritus of then Central State Teachers College, a title he held until his death
