Title

The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay

Michael Chabon

Review

If you are looking for an escape this spring break, look no further! At first glance this book appears long, but trusts me, once you become immersed in the pages, time goes by too quickly. The book is about Josef Kavalier, a young man who escapes Nazi occupied Prague and comes to live with his cousin Sam Clay in Brooklyn NY. The two form a creative partnership with Clay as the writer, and Kavalier as the artist producing some well received and popular comics.

This book is full of action, superheroes, a golem, friendship and love. The action of the book centers around the world of comics, the book really is about the men and the people in their lives. Chabon creates wonderful rich characters that one becomes invested in. I savored this book and did not want it to end.

This is a wonderful read that made me a big Michael Chabon fan. In my opinion this is by far his best novel, and one of my all-time favorite reads. If you haven’t had a chance to read it, do it now! You won’t be disappointed.
