How to Print from WebCT

WebCT documents may be in HTML format, one of MS applications such as PowerPoint or Word, and or PDF. Look at the file extension (such as .pdf or .doc) to determine what kind of document it is.

The format of these documents depends on the faculty who post them. If the same document is offered in several formats, the easiest to print may be Word documents (extension .doc) as long as the computer has the MS Office suite installed. The entire MS Office suite is installed on all library computers.

If the document is in an unknown format (for instance, .ai or .vb), it may not be possible to print the content. Ask the student what type of file it is, and if it is a text file, you may try to open it in Notepad.

If you need to unzip a file with the extension of .zip, there is a built-in decompression program on all public computers. Clicking on the file name will launch the program. However, there are other types of zipped files such as .tar which we cannot decompress on library computers.
