Current Periodicals: The library subscribes to nearly 7,000 periodicals (journals, newspapers, and magazines). Of these, 17% are in print on 4th floor and rest are online. You can look up the title of a particular periodical on our A-Z list of periodicals or search by keyword on Central Search.
Hints for Central Search: A Quick Search will bring back results very quickly, but you may get more focused and better results if you use the Articles tab and narrow your search to one of the subjects in the dropdown options. If you know which database you'd like to search, you can find it on our Databases page.
Back Issues: In general, the library defines "back issues" as print issues of journals older than 3 years. The library binds back issues into volumes and keeps them on 4th floor south unless that can be found in JSTOR or our other databases.
Multimedia: The Multimedia Collection on 4th south features music, movies, scores, a music station with keyboard and a Mac computer, as well as microfilm and microfiche readers and printers, color copying, fax service, and more. Browse and search Multimedia or limit your search to streaming videos online.
Art on 4th floor: Fifty paintings and drawings of George Calvert are featured on 4th floor north. George Emmett Calvert (1928 - 2002) taught oil and watercolor painting, etching, sculpture and pottery as a professor of fine arts at Northeastern University and at Southwestern University.
